Community Mobilization for Empowerment in Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts

Name: “Community Mobilization for Empowerment in Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts” Component of UNDP and UN Women Project on “Restoration of Governance and Reconciliation in Crisis-Affected Communities of Ukraine”

Goal: Empowering IDP and conflict-affected women in Donetsk and Luhansk regions to encourage their active participation in community planning and decision-making.

Objectives:

  • Support the formation of women‘s self‐help groups and strengthen their capacity to implement the social and infra‐structure initiatives
  • Foster community based actions in the amalgamated communities taking into account the needs of women
  • Promote the development and improve life of the amalgamated communities

Target audience: women leaders of amalgamated communities and IDP and conflict-affected women

Donor: UN Women and European Union Office in Ukraine.

Timeframe: September 2016 –October 2017.

Geographic coverage: The component is implemented in 20 communities on Ukrainian-controlled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.
