Building Democratic, Peaceful, and Gender Equal Society in Ukraine – Phase II

Target audience:

WROs, peace activists, women rights defenders, women from vulnerable groups in the target communities and oblasts, including IDP women and women affected by the conflict.

About the project:

The project supports the fulfillment of the National Action Plan of Ukraine for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security” until 2025 and other relevant international and national commitments related to gender equality and women’s empowerment in Ukraine, and contributes to women’s “meaningful” participation at all levels in peacebuilding and security at all levels in Ukraine and receiving equal benefits from them.

Project objectives:

• Create conditions in which women and their organizations can play a meaningful role in conflict prevention, resolution, and post-conflict recovery by mobilizing women who face various forms of discrimination in conflict-affected communities, developing advocacy skills and enhancing their understanding of key opportunities for asserting gender-sensitive services, local development and community security in the context of ongoing reforms.
• Assist the Government in fulfilling and monitoring the commitments to implement the “Women, Peace and Security" agenda in a sustainable and inclusive way.
