Since the beginning of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the entire world witnessed Russia’s unprecedented cruelty and complete disregard for international law. Russian troops destroy entire cities and villages, kill entire families, abuse and torture Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war. Among the most terrible crimes of this genocidal war is war-related gender-based and sexual violence, which Russia has been using since the very beginning of the armed aggression against our country – since 2014.
The book includes 25 interviews with leading international and national experts on war-related sexual violence.
This book Ukraine Is Not Silent: Chronicles of Fighting Against War-Related Sexual Violence (2022–2024) was prepared within the framework of the project “Resilient Together: Improving the system of response to conflictrelated sexual violence (CRSV)” being implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund in partnership with the civil society organizations La Strada-Ukraine, the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association JurFem, as well as in co-operation with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy with financial support from the European Union.
