About the project:

The project goal is to build capacity of women deputies to promote gender equality at the local/community and regional level, as well as strengthen Gender Focused Caucuses, provide support to their initiatives aimed at promoting gender-responsive governance at regional and local levels and addressing women’s needs and concerns. This goal will both help women enjoy their right to political participation and improve the quality of decisions of these bodies for everyone.

Project objectives:

• Provide leadership and thematic training to elected women.
• Foster networking among women activists and women elected to local councils; Institutionalize these alliances through promoting the establishment and then providing support to activities of Gender Focused Caucuses in local councils.
